Our community recycling scheme with Terracycle has launched at the Village Hall. You’ll find the recycling bins on the right as you enter the car park. You can recycle the following:
Crisp packets: All brands of crisp packet are accepted. Please ensure the packets are empty. Crisp packets folded into triangles are not accepted. This is because someone would have to be paid to unfold them at the recycling plant before processing.
Oral care products: For empty toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, toothbrush heads, toothpaste and toothbrush packaging. Please ensure that toothpaste tubes are emptied as much as possible, and that everything is dry. You can recycle the nylon head of bamboo toothbrushes (snap off the toothbrush head, the bamboo handle can be composted at home).
Biscuits and snack packet recycling: Clean plastic wrappers from all brands of non-savoury biscuits, crackers and cakes. Make sure all food residue has been removed.
We also have collection points inside the hall for biscuit and snack packets, and oral care products.
Other recycling for use by Hall hirers: There is a recycling bin in the kitchen where you can recycle the same items that you put in your blue bin at home. You can also use the purple wheelie bin. Please ensure bottles and cartons are rinsed and dry, or seal them with lids. Cardboard and napkins contaminated with food cannot be recycled e.g. paper plates and pizza boxes.
Thank you to everyone that came to be photographed; & those that kindly donated the bins (Barbara Sachs, Elliot Wood and Katherine Jackson).
